Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum Intense (YSL Libre Intense) is a warm floral perfume for women, created by perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm and launched in 2020 as a deeper, more sensual version of Libre. Lavender, mandarin and bergamot open it; orange blossom, jasmine sambac and orchid form the heart; and Madagascar vanilla, tonka bean, ambergris and vetiver give it a rich, creamy base. What does Libre Intense smell like?
It opens with Libre's signature lavender from France, lifted by bright mandarin and bergamot. The heart is a lush bouquet of Moroccan orange blossom and jasmine sambac with a smooth orchid accord. Then warm vanilla and tonka bean take the lead, with ambergris and vetiver adding depth. Compared with the original, it is warmer, creamier and richer in vanilla, with the lavender softer in the background.
When to wear it
Libre Intense is made for evenings and special occasions: dinners, weddings, parties and Eid gatherings. It is rich, so a few sprays are enough, and it feels especially cosy in Qatar's cooler months.
